Estonia

In Estonia – active impact research has been concentrated in different geophysical, mineralogical, chemical, and sedimentological aspects of meteorite impact structures in Estonia and worldwide. The present (2005) activities, partly supported by the Estonian Science Foundation, are about
(i) the thermal history and hydrothermal mineralization at the Kärdla impact structure, Estonia,
(ii) formation and development of small-to-medium size complex impact structures,
(iii) influence of impacts on the Palaeozoic Baltic sedimentary Basin, and
(iv) Estonian impact structures and possible effects of post-glacial impacts on human culture.
