Latvia

In Latvia there is one recognized impact crater, the Dobele structure (around 5 km in diameter). On the age of the formation there are different opinions, ranging between the Carboniferous and the Triassic era. To our knowledge, currently nobody is dealing with the Dobele or the impact topic in Latvia. Earlier Atis Murnieks (Geological Survey of Latvia) studied the structure, however there is a new interest in Latvia following the Estonian and Finnish success in crater search.
