Event description

 

An outburst of the Lugge Tsho occurred on October 7, 1994. More than 20 deaths and significant property damage occurred 86 km downstream in the village of Punakha. The flood had a volume of 28 Mio m³ and a peakdischarge of more than 2`500 m³/s.

26 deaths, 12 houses were damaged, five water mills washed away, and about 800 acres of land damaged
