Kick-off and excursion

1) Kick-off meeting (project start) at UiO

  • Place: Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo.
  • Time: 23.08.2019.
  • Attendees: Partners and participants.

After the Post-doc position was recruited in fall 2018, a kick-off meeting was held in Oslo. This meeting introduced the members of the project team and provided the opportunity to discuss the role of each team member, help needed from stakeholders, and the risks and issues involved.

Firstly, Prof. Chong-Yu Xu as the project leader, presented the project background, objectives, methodology, timeline and milestones, etc. 

And then, several partners and participants gave excellent presentations to provide plenty of constructive and valuable comments and suggestions for project ongoing work as well as for future work. 

Lastly, all partners and participants held a brainstorm discussion for project implementation challenges, plan and risks.

2) Excursion in 2018, Norway

  • Place: From Oslo to Jostedalen, Geiranger, Fjærland and Åndalsnes, Norway.
  • Time: 24.08.2018 – 28.08.2018.
  • Attendees: Partners and participants.

Annual meeting and excursion

1) Annual project meeting in 2019

  • Place: Wuhan City of China.
  • Time: 25.10.2019.
  • Attendees: Partners and participants.

The 2019 annual meeting was held in the Wuhan City of China. The following purposes were reached in this annual meeting.

  1. Exchanged knowledge within the research team and discussed the data availability and quality with the invited experts for the purpose of enriching the database.
  2. Discussed the skilfulness and weakness of existing methods and heard the priorities and needs of the stakeholders.
  3. Reported the progress results and discussed the detailed working plan for the next year.

2) Excursion to Three Gorges Dam site in 2019, China

  • Place: From Wuhan City to Yichang City (Three Gorges Dam site).
  • Time: 22.10.2019 – 24.10.2019.
  • Attendees: Partners and participants.
