The research team behind the Vikings-project aims to find out if volcanic eruptions had some importance and effects on the climate in early Scandinavian history in the period 500-1250 CE.
With focus on the two major volcanic eruptions which hit in 536 and 540 CE the Vikings project research team try to find out if these two volcanic events had some impacts on the Vikings society when they happened and after in time.
