Our main Linux server wessel.uio.no will be down all day 2019-11-13, from 0800.
All running jobs and all interactive session (ssh, x2go, etc) will be terminated. Likewise, all connections to wessel with sshfs, WinSCP, webdrive, etc. will be disconnected.
Alternate servers are sverdrup and pingo.
The downtime is to connect a faster storage solution for the internal storage, and to relocate the old data to the new storage. This will mean faster load-times for applications, faster /tmp, and generally faster operation. External storage (home directories, lagringshotell) will however not see any improvements by this.
Likewise, elefant.uio.no will also be down at the same time and for the same reason.
