Title: Homogeneous catalytic conversion of CO2
Abstract: In the presentation I will give a short overview of my PhD project and I will show first results of a CO2 converting catalyst. The catalyst is based on Cu(I) and part of a two-step procedure to carboxylate alkenes.

Title: Computational studies of an enzyme that produces bioplastics
Abstract: Today most of the plastics produced are made from oil, which is not a renewable carbon source. However, many microorganisms naturally produce polymers that share important properties with plastics from oil. Currently in my PhD project we are trying to understand the catalytic reaction mechanism for one such enzyme, and in this presentation I will talk about the polymer this enzyme produces, the proposed mechanism from literature, and finally how we intend to study this reaction.
