Title: Carboxylation of organoboranes with CO2
Abstract: In 2017 Skrydstrup et al. [1] reported the Cu-catalyzed carboxylation of disubstituted alkenes and terminal alkynes using NHC (N-heterocyclic carbene) ligands and CsF. In my talk, I want to present the preliminary results for possible reaction mechanisms. This will include the Cu-catalyzed reaction mechanism as proposed by Skrydstrup and an uncatalyzed (Cu-free) reaction mechanism we investigated as a result of new experimental findings in our group [2].
