Title: Just-in-time compilation
Abstract: In this talk, I will briefly present the idea of just-in-time (JIT) compilation and one popular implementation Cling (https://github.com/root-project/cling). By using the JIT compilation technique, the read-eval-print loop (REPL) concept can be realized for non-script programming languages like C++ and Fortran. I will also illustrate how to use Cling by a few examples and an ongoing project that uses Cling for computational chemistry.
Due to the present situation with the COVID-19 virus, seminars will be shared between Oslo and Tromsø by using the Zoom virtual meeting system.
