Title: Berry Curvature and the Lorentz Force for Molecular Systems in Magnetic Fields
Abstract: The Berry phase and Berry curvature are important concepts for studying molecules in magnetic fields, especially where molecular dynamics is concerned. This is due to the equations for ab initio molecular dynamics containing additional terms owing to the Lorentz Force and Berry curvature. This talk will focus on the concept of Berry curvature as well as its calculation via finite difference methods at the Hartree-Fock level.
