From 18 to 24 March, the workshop Mathematical Methods in Quantum Chemistry organised by Eric Cancès (École des Ponts ParisTech, Paris), Gero Friesecke (Fakultät für Mathematik, TU München), Trygve Helgaker (Hylleraas Centre, Oslo) and Lin Lin (Department of Mathematics, University of California, Berkeley) was held at the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (MFO) in Schwardtswald, Germany. At the workshop, presentations were given by Fabian Faulstich, Simen Kvaal, Andreas Laestadius, Thomas Bondo Pedersen, Andy Teale, and Erik Tellgren from the Hylleraas Centre and by Jürgen Gauss and Trond Saue from the project Molecules in Extreme Environments at the Centre for Advanced Study in Oslo.

The MFO workshop brought together 45 quantum chemists, physicists, and mathematicians working in the area of quantum chemistry, to assess recent advances and discuss long-term prospects. Each year, MFO holds 48 one-week workshops in mathematics and related fields.
