At the meeting of the Board of Directors and national representatives of the International Society of Theoretical and Chemical Physics (ISTCP) during the 10th Congress of the ISTCP, deputy directory Kenneth Ruud was elected as a new member of the Board of Directors. He joins Hylleraas director Trygve Helgaker as a member of the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors currently consists of 40 elected scientists from across the globe. The president of ISTCP is Prof. Erkki Brändas from Uppsala University in Sweden.

The ISTCP is an informal association of scientists working in the field of theoretical chemical physics. The aim of the Society is to disseminate and promote theoretical methods and models in chemical physics and the application to chemical physics phenomena.

New members of the Board of Directors are elected by the Board amongst the most distinguished members of the Chemical Physics community in a secret ballot by an absolute majority.
