The third edition of the Molecular Response Properties Winter School was organized January 14-18 2019 Haraldvollen at Bardufoss in Northern Norway. 56 participants from 7 european countries and from Russia participated in this year's school, which is the largest number of participants in the history of this winter school.

The school is organised by Patrick Norman (KTH, Sweden), Trond Saue (Toulouse, France) and Hylleraas co-director Kenneth Ruud, who was also the local organizer.

This is the first time this winter school has been organized in Norway, the previous editions having been held in Chamonix and in Luchon, both in France. The school has also be organised twice as a summer school in Blacksburg (VA) in the US, then in cooperation with Prof. Daniel Crawford.

The participants had an intense week of lectures and exercises at the very end of the polar night period in Northern Norway. The curriculum of the school is based on the text book by the three winter school organizers, "Principles and Practices of Molecular Properties: Theory, Modeling, and Simulations" that was published last year.

Food is also important during the winter. Picture from the dining hall. Picture by Trond Saue.

The participation of 18 Russian students and teachers were made possible by the generous support of the Centre for Internationalisation of Education, in a joint project between the Hylleraas Centre and Tomsk State University and St. Petersburg State University.
