One of the most impressive moments of the admission of a new Fellow to the Royal Society is when you sign the Charter Book, which was also signed by Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and more recently by Louis de Broglie, Erwin Schrödinger, Roald Hoffmann and many scientists we admire greatly. Interestingly, Albert Einstein, never signed the document even though he was elected.
Odile Eisenstein had the honour of signing the Charter Book at the Admissions Day ceremony on 14th July 2023 (well fitted to a French citizen), with the authorized fountain pen (the challenging use of a quill was recently abandoned) as 2023 elected Foreign FRS.
