Poster prize winners at this year's PhD Day

Silje and Julie receive awards for best poster the the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science's annual PhD Day event.

Friday the 8th of June marked the fifth PhD Day hosted by the The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the Science Library. There were several talks covering different aspects of PhD life. There was also food and light afternoon entertainment by British comedian Helen Keen and A Capella Science performer Tim Blais.

Also part of the program was poster presentations. Two PhDs from our group, Silje Kristiansen and Julie Sørlie Paus-Knudsen presented their research to a wider scientific audience, including not only biologists, but also physicists, geoscientists, informaticians, mathematicians and chemists.

All posters were judged for their quality, and both Silje and Julie won poster prizes! Silje was voted the best poster and was awarded a 10000 NOK prize, and Julie was a close runner-up! Both posters had a clear structure, concise figures and presented information in a easy-to-follow fashion. Congratulations Silje and Julie—we are extremely proud of both of you!
