EVOGENE seminar: Jonas Paulsen

Entering new dimensions of the genome

Image may contain: Shirt, Forehead, Nose, Smile, Lip.

Interesting patterns emerge when genomes are viewed and analyzed as three-dimensional (3D) objects. With Hi-C, chromosome regions close in 3D are crosslinked, ligated and sequenced, giving rise to contact frequency maps spanning entire genomes. My research revolves around how we can use these maps to link the 3D structure of the genome to its function. Being relatively new at EVOGENE, I will present myself, my group and my research questions. I will also give a crash course in the fascinating aspects of the 3D genome.
