The institute provides up to NOK 16,000 for the purchase of PCs, and up to NOK 21,000 for the purchase of macs. This only applies to regular office computers for employees on NFR projects.
As long as the NFR does not allow the purchase of ordinary computers from allocated project funds, the institute provides support for such purchases. The project manager sends an email to bobben@ibv.uio.no, stating the name of the project and the account string to be used. You also specify what kind of machine and specifications you want.
The machine is then ordered, and in its entirety charged to the project, and then one gets reversed support according to the rules given above.
If you need a particularly powerful machine on a project, this is not considered a normal office machine, and must be covered from the project.
