2017: LaCell – Biolaser (completed)

Our project was to create a functional biolaser setup by using a fluorescent protein solution as the gain medium for a laser and to apply said biolaser setup and use living cells containing fluorescent protein as the gain medium. The idea is to first make a functional proof-of-concept on the biolaser and assert how energy applied changes the output of a biolaser. If this is a non-linear relationship, it would indicate potential of a biolaser as a more sensitive method of measurement.
