Einar Birkeland is working as a researcher in the CRCbiome project, aiming to improve CRC screening and understanding of disease development through analyses of the gut microbiome. Einar has a background as a molecular biologist, with experience in applied bioinformatics, with a PhD from the University of Bergen (2018). His research interests primarily lie in understanding how genomics can be applied to understand cancer development and progression.
