Academic Interests
My Ph.D. project is related to the exploration of automatic tempo synchronization for human-machine interactive music systems based on autonomous agents.
The main objective is to explore, build and study technological solutions in virtual, physical-virtual, and physical platforms for interactive music systems in multimodal environments based on musical agents. As such, the interaction between autonomous agents and/or humans is governed by strategies for music performances with automatic tempo synchronization.
To attain this goal, this project considers the design, implementation, and evaluation of multimodal interactive music systems modeled as swarms of autonomous agents that can show self-organization and emergent behaviors for music performances. The main behavior of interest is automatic tempo synchronization in a distributed architecture. The systems are organized in three stages: virtual, physical-virtual, and physical platforms.
The technologies relevant to this project are:
- Extended Reality (virtual, augmented, and mixed).
- Spatial Audio.
- Motion Capture.
- Robotic platforms.
