Abstract
In the seminar ‘Global antibiotic use and resistance’ Cecilia will give a brief background to the current situation of antibiotic use and resistance and link her research to the objectives of the Global action plan on antimicrobial resistance. She makes the topic accessible for people with no medical or pharmaceutical background, but u also very interesting to people with such background.
About
Professor Cecilia Stålsby Lundborg collaborates with researchers in a number of countries in Asia (currently India, China and Laos), Africa (currently Uganda and South Africa) and Europe in projects most of which are focusing on antibiotic use and resistance. Several projects take a One health perspective and many are intervention projects. She has published close to 250 peer reviewed publication in international journals and supervised 20 doctoral students to PhD whereof 16 as main supervisor. She has been working with Strama, the Swedish strategic program against antibiotic resistance for 15 years and was one of the initiators of ReAct – Action of antibiotic resistance. She is the academic coordinator for collaboration with India at Karolinska Institutet.
