Paper Development Seminar Series

The Paper Development Seminar Series is a biweekly one-hour event. It is a venue for faculty and PhD students to receive constructive feedback on research manuscripts under development. Manuscripts submitted to the Paper Development Seminar Series should be in a relatively mature state.

The Paper Development Seminar Series is chaired by Silvia Masiero and Terje Aksel Sanner.

Schedule

Seminars follow the following format:

- Authors will share their papers for circulation by Monday of the seminar week. It is required that all participants read the paper ahead of the sessions and prepare at least one comment. It is up to the authors to decide whether to share any peer reviews received on the paper. The Authors must specify 2-3 points on which they would like feedback.

- The one-hour session will not involve a presentation - but a short opening by the session chairs, followed by a round of feedback in which every participant, in a round-table format, will share one comment on the paper. In addition, two discussants will be assigned to each paper. The discussants will be tasked with reading and commenting on both the paper and the accompanying review package (if applicable). For the other participants, it is not required, but optional to inspect the review package. The session will focus on how the paper can be further developed and improved for publication.
