BPMN process modeling using DCR graph

Dynamic Condition Response (DCR) graph is an event-based process modelling tool effective in adopting constraints or rules inside business workflows. Our research questions aim to find out how modelling of the use-case of smart home can be done by using the DCR graph as a tool. Additionally, our research questions target to find the extent to which use case can be modelled. Lab simulation of use case helped us to divide the whole process into different goals. Further breakdown of goals into events helped us to provide events and its associated connections that needed for modelling. In this study, we used DCR graph as a tool to model an event-based process of smart home use-case. As predicted, we were able to model the events we presumed in smart home use case. However, the complex structure of processor inside smart home ́s server limited the modelling. We concluded that the server architecture is capable of producing complex events and connections that are beyond the modelling capacity of DCR graph in recent context
