Speaker: Hui Zhang  from IFI, UiO.

Background of the speaker:

Hui got two Master’s Degrees, one in Communication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in the city of Turin, Italy, another in Power Electronics and Power Drives from Wuhan University of Technology in the city of Wuhan, China. She had academic research experience in privacy protection and secure data sharing for wireless sensor networks during her master study. Her master thesis in China is “Secure Data Storage and Retrieval in Wireless Sensor Networks”, in which Shamir’s Secret Sharing and Homomorphic Encryption are used to enhance information security in distributed data storage and aggregation in WSNs. Her master thesis in Italy is about the application of cryptography in Electronic Voting, and the title is "E-Voting: Fast Algorithm for Anonymity and Verifiability", in which blind signature, RSA Encryption, Homomorphic Encryption and some other cryptographic methodologies are used to increase data privacy, anonymity and verification.

After her master, she went to international companies to work, and has been working in financial service industry for 11 years from Oct 2012 to Sep 2023, in Capgemini and State Street Corporation respectively.
