Abstract:

The rise in energy prosumption has led to a decentralized energy market, challenging the traditional vertical energy value chain. Local energy markets facilitate the sharing and trading of energy among prosumers, utilizing various business models to support neighborhood-level electricity trade. Within the local markets, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading emerges as an innovative transactive energy framework that empowers prosumers with incentives and flexibility to promote renewable energy development.

Despite previous efforts in academia and industry to develop system-level models for P2P energy trading, there are still significant cross-disciplinary challenges and untapped opportunities that must be addressed to effectively expand the real-world implementations. The current study aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice and laying the groundwork for comprehensive and well-structured P2P energy trading frameworks that deliver social acceptance and adoption.

Throughout the presentation, we will explore the main cross-disciplinary chapters covered in this literature review study. This will enable a more in-depth discussion on the proposed contents and provide insights into potential additions to the study.
