There is a great amount of data on the Web, but to a large extend they are not published in a way that computers can consume. Embedded semantic technologies, such as RDFa, Microformats, microdata and eRDF, enable us to annotate data within XHTML documents with metadata and connect data from different sources, so that computers can extract, link and query data and semantics directly from content. However, annotating huge amount of documents available in organisations or open web is quite challenging.
Accordingly, the goal of this thesis is to develop a visual annotation tool that enables naive end-users to (semi)-automatically annotate documents with RDFa. The challenge should be considered both from usability and semantic perspective.
