Data Management Platform for Citizen Science

Citizen science has emerged as a scientific domain where scientific research is conducted by amateur scientists. This thesis will investigate the use of digital technologies, in particular data management technologies for implementing and managing citizen science projects in a more efficient way. Tasks will include setting-up a data management architecture for citizen science projects, generating templates for the most widely used citizen science platforms, methodology for managing the lifecycle of data and research objects created through participatory scientific workflows, testing of various data management techniques and tools, etc. A proof of concept implementation pollution-centred citizen science projects will also be part of the thesis.
