As users are increasingly likely to experience creepiness in everyday interactions with technologies, Interaction Design needs to understand more about the phenomenon of creepy technologies to minimize the negative impact of future interactive technologies.
To this end, this master thesis will explore the qualities of technology that can be perceived as creepy.
In this thesis, a research-through-design (RtD) approach will be applied. RtD is an approach to conducting scholarly research that employs the methods, practices, and processes of design practice with the intention of generating new knowledge. Consequently, design activities will help us understand more about creepy technologies' characteristics.
