RoCE over PCI Express

RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) is a network protocol that allows remote direct memory access (RDMA) over an Ethernet network.

Dolphin IXH PCIe Adapter

RoCE is defined to offer InfiniBand like RDMA over Converged Ethernet, and it is assumed that this kind of protocol can be implemented over PCI Express great results.

This master project is available for one student, and the tasks would be to:

  • Create RoCE compliant transport using standard PIO and RDMA functionality offered by the Dolphin’s SISCI API.
  • Open source the implementation.
  • Test and benchmarking, comparison with IB networks

Dolphin will provide required guidance on using SISCI and PCI Express interconnect cards, as well as the required hardware for test and benchmarking.

  • Knowledge required: Low-level programming (C), operating systems.
