There are several NLP tasks that can be modelled as machine translation from one variant of a language to another variant of the same language: grammatical error correction, text simplification, style transfer, (abstractive) summarization, or paraphrase generation.
Your goal will be to investigate one such task for a particular language. This involves finding (and if necessary, compiling) suitable training and test data, training several models and evaluating them.
