CANCELLED Single photons cannot be localized, and why do we care

This will lead to the surprising result that single photons cannot be produced on demand, which seems contrary to practical experiences. A resolution to this apparent paradox is presented from the work of our group. Doctoral Research Fellow Gulla then discusses implications of this result for other areas of physics and for the development of future quantum technologies.
