About the project

Europe is experiencing a dramatic increase in the penetration of renewable energy sources into electricity grids, representing a crucial societal challenge for the years to come. The topic needs a conceptual framework that is very different from the classic approach, with a coupling between basic materials, components, system management and analysis of the most cost-effective solution.

This project aims at developing an unconventional modular hybrid energy storage system that consists in three storage modes, to be used alone or in combination, where components consists in metal hydrides-based storage systems.
