Values

Culture (defined as our attitudes and our behavior) and interactions are crucial to achieving the institute's objectives.

We want our culture to be characterized by all employees and students taking personal responsibility for rules and routines being followed and thereby contributing to a secure, safe and good working environment. Harassment and unwanted behavior are not accepted.

The Department's rules

The Department has mapped which values and attitudes matter to us and to our working environment, and has drawn up rules for interactions based on:

  • a recognition for each other's work and professional areas and
  • a wish for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • we are proud of the Department
  • we have knowledge about each other
  • we give feedback to each other
  • the students are our most important resource

Responsibility for HSE

The head of department has overall responsibility for all aspects of HSE. This means that the head of department is responsible for ensuring that the activities at the Department of Chemistry are run responsibly and that laws and regulations are followed. The head of department may choose to delegate some of the tasks to others. The institute has its own HSE coordinator and radiation protection coordinator who coordinate general HSE and radiation protection work. The office manager initiates and coordinates the work related to the psycho-social working environment.

All employees and students have a personal responsibility to ensure that rules and routines are followed and to contribute to a safe working environment.
