The celebration gathered people across time and space of The Department of Chemistry and Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (SMN) who has shared many steps or a few steps of Helmer's journey. Stian Svelle, Øystein Prytz, Anders Elverhøi, Aase Marie Hundere and ofcourse Helmer himself all contributed with speeches to commemorate the occasion.

Coworkers, friends and family gathered in the Chemistry Canteen 12th of June to mark a special jubilee for a man who started his career at UiO all the way back to 1974.
