Description of services:
- identify and categorise solid crystalline materials
- determine the structures of new molecules and materials
- study how structures change as we modify them chemically
- measure the thickness and composition of nanometre-thick films (e.g. in microelectronic devices)
- see how the atomic structures of functional materials change under real working conditions
- accesses the nanoscale allowing us
- to watch the organization of polymer micelles
- to watch proteins in real time
- to study the nucleation of nanoparticles and Crystals.

About the RECX project
A key rationale is to achieve two complementary modes of operation, both providing the research community with state-of-the-art X-ray facilities; one focusing on regular and advanced analysis based on cutting-edge commercial systems, a second focusing on flexible and modular set-ups to tailor a range of sophisticated experiments.
The Centre holds national expertise to develop experimental methods at the scientific frontline. RECX will act as a scientific hub, fully accessible for users in universities, colleges, research institutes, industry and public sector. All these categories use existing facilities at UiO and NTNU.
