Are you writing an opinion piece or a popular science article? This workshop is for you if you're seeking tips on writing for the general public and if you want to develop your text in a community with writing colleagues.

Communicating with the general public is an important part of the university's social mission, but writing well for a broad audience is an art that requires practice.

The Communication Forum at MN is organizing this writing workshop to offer doctoral candidates, professors, and other faculty members the opportunity to work on text collectively. That way, we can learn from receiving feedback on our own writing and by seeing how our colleagues work with writing. The workshop is suitable for those who have written extensively before and for those who are writing popular science for the first time.

The workshop will span a half-day, beginning with a brief introduction to writing and storytelling. Then, we will use a structured program to work on one text at a time in groups of 3-6 participants.

We will end the event with lunch (provided).

Before the workshop, all participants must prepare a draft of an opinion piece or popular science text of up to 6,000 characters (including spaces). The draft must be submitted to the organizer at least three days before the workshop is held.

The program will be held in either Norwegian or English, depending on the preferences of the attendees.

Maximum number of participants: 10.

We reserve the right to cancel the workshop in case of too few participants.
