Abstract: Kummer quartic surfaces may be constructed as both symmetric and Lagrangian degeneracy loci.
I shall discuss these constructions, relations between them, and similar constructions of hyperkähler fourfolds, in a report on common work with Atanas Iliev, Grzegorz and Michal Kapustka.
