Abstract: We will discuss a (true) special case of this absurd assertion. It involves coactions of compact groups on M_n. We show that every such coaction is associated with a Fell bundle, and is implemented by a unitary operator. We characterize when the coaction is inner, and when it is ergodic. We apply our techniques to show that the coaction can be effective and ergodic when the group is SO(3), but not SU(2). Joint with Steve Kaliszewski and Magnus Landstad.
