Gerardo Morsella: Modular theory for standard subspace and relative entropy in QFT

Abstract: The problem of understanding modular theory in QFT has attracted renewed attention due to the connection between the modular Hamiltonian and Araki's relative entropy, and to the recent interest in the computation of information theoretic quantities in QFT. The standard subspace version of modular theory leads to the notion of the entropy of a vector with respect to a standard subspace of a complex Hilbert space. I will discuss its computation, and its relation with the relative entropy of coherent states in QFT in several contexts.
