Abstract: We consider the KdV equation used for modeling, e.g., water waves in a narrow channel. The time evolution is described by a quadratic
(Burgers’) plus a linear (Airy) term. The aim of this talk is to show different splitting method converge with the expected rate if the initial data is sufficiently smooth. We also present a proof of convergence of a fully discrete finite difference scheme for KdV equation.
