Honorary doctoral lecture given by Professor Elaine Cohen at the Department of Mathematics

Professor Elaine Cohen (University of Utah) is appointed honorary doctor at UiO. On this occation she will give a lecture: Mathematics and Geometric Modeling: Similar Ingredients, Distinct Goals

During the seremony at the University Annual Festivities September 2, Professor Elaine Cohen, University of Utah will be appointed honorary doctor at UiO.

Cohen developed the Oslo-algorithm with Richard Riesenfeld and Tom Lyche.

She is Distinguished Professor at the School of Computing, University of Utah. She has received several honours and is known for her contributions in mathematics and geometric modelling.

Elaine Cohen will visit the Department of Mathematics August 24 - September 1. 

The lecture is open for all and is given in English.
