This talk presents recent results on interconnecting multiple Lagrange-Dirac systems at the discrete level using variational integrator techniques. We will discuss the variational integrator construction and its desirable properties as well as some background on Dirac structures and Lagrange-Dirac mechanics before presenting the results.
