Title: Simulations of Lattice Gauge Theories with Superconducting Quantum Computers

Abstract: In this presentation I will conduct an analysis of the state-of-art of the IBM superconducting quantum devices simulating physical systems, with a focus on Lattice Gauge Theory models. The Time Evolution Algorithm as well as the VQE computations, are performed on real devices and compared to results obtained with classical computers for the simplest LGT model, the Z2 finite group approximation model, and his dual: the Transverse Field Ising model. To better understand the actual state-of-art of these superconducting quantum devices a benchmarking of various existing error mitigation techniques, as Zero Noise Extrapolation and Measurement Error Mitigation, and some novel strategies is performed for every quantum simulation.
