Abstract: Quantum error mitigation (QEM) aims to reduce the errors that occur on quantum chips when a quantum algorithm is executed. In this talk I will give an introduction to two popular methods for QEM. The first one is based on extrapolation techniques, and the second on quasiprobabilistic decompositions. I will also highlight differences and similarities of QEM and quantum error correction.
