Travel information:
Risør is located in the southern part of Norway along the seaside. It is a small town where everything is within walking distance.
If you are traveling to Norway by airplane, the closest airport to Risør is Torp Sandefjord airport (TRP). The largest international airport is Oslo Airport Gardemoen (OSL). Please note that it will take about 2-4 hours of transport time to reach Risør depending on which airport you choose. The travel is easy and you may read the details here below. However, note that landing at TRP is considerably of shorter distance and may save you approximately two hours in travelling time.
Arriving at Oslo airport Gardemoen (OSL):
Catch the Airport train (Flytoget) to Oslo central station. This takes approximately 20 minutes. See flytoget for more information). From there, go to Oslo Bus Terminal (Oslo bussterminal) around 500 m walk from the train station. From here, the easiest is to use Konkurrenten Bus to go to Risør.

The bus ride takes approximately 3-4 hours from Oslo to Vinterkjær (Risør). There is a shuttle-bus waiting at the bus stop in Vinterkjær, which will bring you down to Risør town centre Risør Tollboden (or Risør Rutebilstasjon)
We reccomend to choose this bus line, as the information is in english, and goes directly to Risør Rutebil Stasjon.

From Top Sandefjord airport (TRP), take a taxi to Fokserød bus station (5 min drive). From here you can take the bus going to Risør. Choose one of the bus companies below

The bus takes approximately 2-3 hours from Fokserød to Vinterkjær (Risør). From Vinterkjær there is a shuttlebus waiting at the bus stop, which will bring you down to Risør town centre (Risør Tollboden).
