Matteo Demurtas receives travel grant

Matteo Demurtas has been awarded the grant so he can spend a 3 months period in 2020 at the University of Edinburgh. During the stay he will be working with Dr Mark Naylor. The main objective of his stay will be to set up and calibrate a simple shearing apparatus to perform photoelastic experiments on granular materials, looking in particular at the development and evolution of force chains during deformation.
