Network with over a million human genomes becomes available for research

In an interview with Titan, the science news site at UiO, professor Eivind Hovig, leader of SBI, talks about Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI), a large new EU project. GDI will enable access across Europe to a network of more than a million human genomes for research purposes in a safe and secure way. This could be very important for personalised medicine in the future. The project is coordinated by Elixir and the Oslo node of Elixir plays an important role in the technical infrastructure that the project builds upon.
