Paula's research interest mainly lies in human associated virome and its impact on human health. Currently she is a Scientia Fellow at CRCbiome project working on development of biomarkers for early stage colorectal cancer screening.
Paula has a broad background in molecular biology, enzymology and biotechnology. She has expertise both in wet lab and dry lab analysis of DNA from metagenomic samples. She also has experience with developing bioinformatic pipelines for virome data analysis.
Paula has also previously worked with identifying and producing new proteins from metagenomic samples.
