Academic interests

Bo is interested in understanding the relationship between microscopic structure and properties in crystalline, disordered, and nanostructured materials; ferroelectric oxides, energy storage materials, electrocatalysis, and high entropy ceramics.  His research involves using an array of techniques, including material synthesis, sintering, processing, and structural characterization of complex materials using Pair distribution functions (PDF) obtained from advanced neutron and synchrotron X-ray scattering facilities, density functional theory (DFT/AIMD) simulations, materials and metallurgy thermodynamics modeling, and more...
