Tron site

View towards north to peak area of Tron (1660 m a.s.l.). Extensive block fields cover this area.  The flat area is Flattron, 1300 m a.s.l. (Photo:  B. Etzelmuller, 2007).

On the Tron massif we drilled three bore holes at 10 m and 30 m depth. All the boreholes are in either block fields with extensive patterned ground or in ground moraine. In addition we have installed a fully-equipped weather station in the top area, at 1620 m a.s.l, close to borehole 1.

See also the weather station at Tron.
